Wedding Dress and Cowboy Boots | Grief and Loss | Port Orchard Photographer

Posted in: About Me, Grief and Loss

Allow me to set the scene…

Her heels were sinking into the ground and I could tell she wanted to take them off. Her love says to her, “Too bad you don’t have your boots.” She responds with, “I have them in my bag!” By this time, I am intrigued and ask if she’s referring to cowboy boots and excitedly, she says, “Yes!” I immediately say, “Let me grab them for you!”

All this happened before I knew how important these boots were to my bride. You see, her grandfather gave them to her before he passed away. She let me know how much it meant to her that I captured these portraits. I got chills when she told me.

I don’t tell many people this, but I always pray before my sessions. I pray that God would lead me and guide me in capturing moments and memories for my clients. That He would bless my clients and bring them joy through my photography. That He would grant me wisdom in all things.

I believe that God led me to photograph this very photo of my client in these boots and I am so thankful that He did. I can’t express this enough…I do not take my job lightly. I know what a photograph can do…the feelings and emotions it can stir. How it can bring you back in time. I know this every time I look at photos of my beautiful mama who passed away this time two years ago.

May He continue to lead me and guide me on this journey of capturing memories for my own family, my friends, and especially my clients.

If you read this far, thank you so much for your support of my small business. It means the world to me! 😘
